Dog Walking Policies & Procedures

This document outlines the policies and procedures for Tail Trailers Dog Walking Services.

  1. Services Provided
    Tail Trailers provides professional dog walking services as well as Boarding in my home on a
    scheduled basis as agreed with the client. Walks will be conducted in groups. Walk duration
    begins when the dog gets to the walking destination and ends when the dog is safely
    returned to the home after 1 hour walk..
  2. Health & Safety Requirements
    All dogs must be up to date on required vaccinations, including rabies. Dogs must be free
    from contagious illnesses, and fleas. Clients must disclose any medical conditions,
    behavioral issues, allergies (including food allergies, as treats are given to reinforce positive
    behavior), or special handling needs prior to service.
  3. Leashes, Collars & Equipment
    Dogs must wear a properly fitted collar or harness. If they use any special training collar
    that should be provided prior to each walk. Retractable leashes are not permitted. Tail
    Trailers reserves the right to use their own safety equipment when necessary.
  4. Behavior & Aggression Policy
    Dogs must not display aggressive behavior toward people or other animals. Any history of
    biting, snapping, or aggression must be disclosed. Services may be terminated immediately
    if a dog poses a safety risk.
  5. Weather Policy
    Walks may be adjusted or shortened during extreme weather conditions such as: Thunder,
    Lightening, High Wind, Rain and extremely low or high temperatures unsafe for dogs.
    Services may be canceled if conditions are deemed unsafe to ensure the safety of the dog
    and walker.
  6. Access to Client Home
    Clients must provide reliable access to their home. Alarm systems and special instructions
    must be disclosed in advance. If there are special instructions due to cleaners, weather
    conditions, or any other situation that may impact pick-up or drop-off it needs to be
    communicated via text prior to drop off.
  7. Scheduling, Cancellations & Payment
    Clients will be receiving Invoices the weekend after that week’s services were
    provided for Dog Walking. Boarding payments are due in full at the time of pick
    up. Invoices will be sent via email. Payments will be due that following week by Friday
    5pm. (either via Cash, Zelle, or Check – made out to: Julie Resendes). A $10.00 fee will
    be applied to your invoice for all payments not made by the due date. A late
    cancellation the morning of the dog’s scheduled walk will result in a $10 cancellation
    fee. No-shows, or inability to access the home may be charged in full.
  8. Pricing
    Dog Walks Overnights (Per Dog)
    $40.00 for a 1 Hour $70 Monday – Thursday
    $15 for additional walk (double) $75 Friday – Sunday
    $15 for each additional sibling $50 Day only [5 hours Max]

    1st Group: 8:30am – 10:30am Pick-up: 8:00am – 2:30pm
    2nd Group: 10:30am- 12:30pm Drop-off: Before 5pm
  9. Transportation Policy
    Transportation is provided in the towns of Dedham, Norwood, Westwood, and Walpole..
    Dogs will be safely transported in my personal vehicle to designated on/off leash dog
    walking trails as well as Conservation land in the towns of Canton and Sharon.
  10. Emergency & Veterinary Care
    In the event of an emergency, Tail Trailers will attempt to contact the client and seek
    veterinary care if necessary. Clients are responsible for all veterinary expenses.
  11. Liability & Indemnification
    Tail Trailers and Julie Resendes are not liable for illness, injury, or damages beyond
    reasonable care. Clients agree to hold Tail Trailers harmless from claims related to their
    dog’s behavior.
  12. Communication & Media
    Clients may receive updates or photos during or after services throughout the week. Upon
    scheduling your dog you are giving permission for photos to be taken of your dog as well as
    authorizing permission for the use of marketing or social media purposes.
  13. Termination of Services
    Services may be terminated for repeated policy violations, unsafe behavior, non-payment, or
    if the working relationship is no longer a good fit.
  14. Acceptance of Policies
    By engaging Tail Trailers services, the client acknowledges they have read, understood, and
    agree to these policies and procedures.
